ENVIRONMENT AT FOUNDATION YEARS

LIFE IN THE LEARNING ENVIRONMENT - A PEEK INTO THE ELC CLASSROOMS:

Enthusiastically engaged is what our little comets are as they interact with their teachers and peers in the classrooms. Peek into our classrooms and find our students actively sharing in class discussions, eagerly demonstrating their literacy and numeracy knowledge as they develop their reading and writing skills, and happily exploring our wide range of manipulatives and resources.

Our theme-based learning experiences provide numerous opportunities for our students to make learning lots of fun. Dress-up days such as Bible Character and Bug parades are two such events that allow students to creatively learn and explore concepts outside of the classrooms. Guest speakers and carefully-planned field trips, such as visits to the Fire House and Police Station, or to the Zoo, also enhance our students' learning as they make real-life connections and lasting memories.

Parental-involvement is encouraged and valued at Foundation Years as parents and teachers partner for ultimate learning success. Activities such as our home reading program, and our home projects foster our students' love for learning that is reinforced at home.

LITERACY AND NUMERACY AT FOUNDATION YEARS

At Foundation Years, high emphasis is placed on the development of strong literacy and numeracy skills. Our comprehensive literacy and numeracy schemes are based on national standards and are supported by our wide range of classroom materials.

Lessons at the Foundation Years are engaging and well-integrated with the latest interactive whiteboard technology.
