Q & A about QC

Does Queen’s College offer scholarships?

In addition to scholarships offered by the Bahamas Conference of the Methodist Church, Queen’s College offers full and partial Merit and Sports Scholarships to deserving persons. [click to go to Scholarships]

Does Queen’s College provide its students with text books?

No.  At the beginning of each school year, students are given a list of books that must be purchased on the specified day(s), early in the term, from the school.  Often a Saturday is chosen as the day for parents to purchase texts.

How can I check on my child’s progress outside of the two reporting periods?

Progress reports and additional information pertaining to each student's classes is available for parents at our Edline website. [click to go to Edline Page]

What is the easiest way of contacting my child’s teachers?

Every high school teacher has a QC e-mail account and parents are advised to use this most effective method of communicating with teachers.  Phone calls and an actual visit to the office are avenues by which appointments can be made. [click to go to Faculty Directory]

What is the key success at Queen's College for my child?

The key to success is undoubtedly the meaningful involvement of the parent in the life of the child.  Parents must find the time to talk to their children daily about school, examine their exercise books, supervise homework daily and help them prepare for quizzes, tests and examinations.  Research has shown that this is the most important variable in the equation of success.  We encourage parents to become fully involved in the development of their children.
