Welcome to the Queen’s College Library. Have a question? See Mrs. Knowles, High School Librarian for help. The goal of the Queen’s College Library is to provide an environment that allows students to become lifelong learners and readers. The library supports the curriculum of the school and encourages the use of all materials located in the library. The library endeavors to provide reading materials for leisure reading and reference materials for research for both students and faculty.

The High School library provides a broad spectrum of learning opportunities for large and small groups of students as well as for individual students. The facility is designed to accommodate various size groups as well. There are areas in the library that may be reserved for classes or small group use such as the cozy reading area, or one the large seating sections. Individual computers can be reserved by students for word processing and computer-based research. The library also provides a scanning and photocopying service to students and faculty.

The library is open each morning at 8:00 AM for students who need to research, read, or study. It closes at 4 PM Tuesday and Thursday and at 3 PM on Monday, Wednesday and Friday. With permission, students may also use the library during SQUIRT or Form Assembly. Books signed out are on a two-week loan period. Renewal options are available. Reference materials and encyclopedias may not leave the library. In addition, materials that are to be used by an entire class may be placed on reserve status.

Classes are to be scheduled through the librarian for library assignments. Faculty are requested to plan with the librarians before assigning research projects so that students will be able to produce a more successful final project. Various media formats including books, periodicals, videos, CD's and CD-ROM's are available for circulation by teachers and students.
