Programme Summary
We at Queen’s College believe in providing the best possible
holistic education for all children. As a part of this
aim, we have
developed an ‘Accelerated Learning Programme’ which seeks to
challenge students to attain their potential at an earlier
stage in their high school career and so
enable them to reach new academic heights before graduating.
The acceleration programme has produced some outstanding
results and our students have, so far, been able to sit
internationally recognized examinations in Grade 12, better
preparing them for their aspirations throughout higher
education.
Currently, some students are selected at an early stage to sit
the accelerated courses in certain subjects, however, it is
quite possible that soon, this will become a comprehensive
policy providing all students with the opportunity to sit all
their BGCSE subjects by Grade 11.
Students
would then be able to concentrate on key skills for college,
or follow international programmes such as: A-Levels or AP
courses. This excellent opportunity would greatly add to their
appeal for the best schools, colleges and universities
overseas.
The faster pace that these accelerated courses demand,
challenge both teacher and student alike, to maintain a
determined focus on excellence in all learning and teaching
processes at Queen’s College.
We trust that you feel as excited and as encouraged as we do
about this programme, which clearly brings added possibilities
for your child. We shall continue to make Queen’s College the
best place to nurture and develop all children’s abilities
whilst at High School.
